Zhu Li Guan Tea House is a serene tea salon dedicated to exploring the depth and diversity of Taiwanese tea. Known as Dr. Tea Roaster, owner Steve Huang’s search for a truly remarkable cup of tea began over three decades ago. His tireless efforts led to Taipei’s first Vegetarian “Tea Art House”, which offers a selection of Taiwanese teas and vegetarian dishes combining traditional tea ceremony with plant-based cuisine. Originating in Taiwan in the 1970s, Tea Art was initially inspired by Japanese sadō (Way of Tea), yet Taiwanese practitioners sought a more contemporary, less formal tea ceremony in line with daily life. To engage younger generations accustomed to Western cafés, traditional tea houses evolved by blending tea appreciation with cuisine and cultural events. This fusion spearheaded the "Tea Art House” movement that flourished across Taiwan in the 1980s. Today, Zhu Li Guan offers a Gung Fu tea set, a Covered Cup (gaiwan) tea set, and cold brew tea; served alongside bamboo steamers full of sweet or savory Taiwanese delicacies.
