Happy Fisherman EP39: Waisanding Sandbar: The Disappearing Land of Taiwan
Waisanding Sandbar on the west coast of Taiwan was once the home to more than a thousand residents. As sediment storage dams were erected in rivers nearby, the sandbar, without sufficient siltation, began to shrink and is now on the brink of disappearing. Leo visits the sandbar to learn about its history and the oyster farming industry that depends on it.
