Leo uses an unconventional method in catching baby eels as he sets sail on a sampan boat offshore. Despite all the hard work, Leo only earned NT$1,000, not even enough for the gas. He also visited one of the largest eel farms in Donggang, Pingtung to learn how baby eels are transported throughout the country. Seeing workers burn from 4 a.m. to noon, Leo was intrigued by how much it takes for us to enjoy a bowl of eel on rice. Upon returning to Taipei, Leo demonstrates how to smoke eel the classic German way. From marinating the eel with spices to smoking it for several hours.
