Happy Fisherman - EP2: Here Comes the Beltfish

Leo sails off for night fishing in catching beltfish in Keelung's Baodouzi, northern Taiwan's largest fishing port. Feeding actively at night, fishing boats must leave port at midnight as they embark on their 5-hour journey around the waters of Guishan Island, known for its infamous turtle shape. Given the stormy weather and current, Leo was able to experience first-hand the daunting and dedicated work of the fishermen as they catch the savory beltfish, one after another. Fishermen employ a manual fishing method with the hard-earned beltfish by luring them one fish at a time. Using saury as bait, they are placed into the sea at a depth of 90 meters. A method that requires both patience and precision. As Leo waits, he throws up twice and is touched by how determined these local fishermen work throughout the long night.
