Classical Music Performance in Taiwan: Four Seasons, Hornpipe, Salut D’amour Ep8
From Vivaldi’s Four Seasons to Handel’s Hornpipe Water Music, this episode of Resound is set to bring you the best of classical music. With an outstanding and emotive performance by Taiwan’s top-tier classical musicians, these pieces are set to come alive both sonically and visually. Together, these six pieces is a musical journey in and of itself. While a brass quintet (‘Taiwan Glory Brass’) blares out a scenic view first captured by American composer Kevin McKee, the Pizzicato Polka by Johann Strauss II creates a fun and witty contrast. To top it off, a new-age piece composed by Taiwanese Stephen Huang and performed by jazz string quartet ‘Interestring’ brings lightness to a genre blending of classical music and contemporary ways of fiddling with these instruments.
