Among the ten thousand candidates who participated in the audition, Tseng Jing-hua was cast as Wei Chung-ting in the film “Detention.” His debut performance in “Detention” not only launched his acting career but also earned him nominations for Best New Performer at the 56th Golden Horse Awards and Best Actor at the 22nd Taipei Film Awards. In 2020, Tseng played Birdy in “Your Name Engraved Herein.” Both films grossed over 100 million New Taiwan Dollars (approximately US$3 million) at the box office. In 2023, Tseng played the male lead, Pu Yi-yong, in the fantastic comedy “Oh No! Here Comes Trouble,” winning praise and recommendation from fans; moreover, he was nominated Best Actor in a Leading Role at the 28th Asian Television Awards and Best Leading Actor in a Television Series at the 59th Golden Bell Awards.
