Vivian Sung launched her career as an actress in 2014 with the film Café. Waiting. Love. In the following year, her performance in Our Times won her a nomination for Best Leading Actress at the 52nd Golden Horse Awards, and these two romantic movies catapulted her into stardom. In 2021, Sung starred in Till We Meet Again directed by Giddens Ko, which became another box-office hit in Asia. Up to 2024, the global box-office revenues of all the films Sung starred in has reached 450 million US dollars. Several of the films she participated in were shown at international film festivals, including Nina Wu directed by Midi Z, which premiered in the Un Certain Regard at Cannes, the short film Taipei Suicide Story, which was screened in the Cinefondation at Cannes, and For My Country, which was selected for the Horizon at Venice. With her fluency in English, Sung began taking part in international co-productions in 2021, including For My Country directed by French director Rachid Hami and My Heavenly City shot in New York. This year, she will star in the Korean film The Secret House, in which she speaks Mandarin as well as Korean, showcasing her multifaceted talent.
