Prowling Along the Zengwen River: A Basin of Giant Water
Taiwanese photographers Chen Po-yi and Lin Hsuan-lang capture the Zengwen River Basin with completely different perspectives. Observing the products of human interaction with nature from macro and micro perspectives respectively, both of them convey the importance of the largest reservoir in Taiwan. In this episode, we see Chen, who has a background in hydraulic engineering, visit villagers who were relocated due to the reservoir’s construction. On the other hand, Lin shares his experiences during the year he spent visiting the Zengwen River Basin. With their works for the ‘Mattauw Land Art Festival - Sneaking Photography Project’, both Chen and Lin demonstrate the power of photographs as a way to communicate to future generations.
