Taiwan Revokes Chinese-Born Advocate's Residency Status After Conviction
A Chinese woman living in Taiwan is set to lose her residency status after being convicted of developing pro-Beijing networks. Zhou Manzhi, who moved to Taiwan in 2003 and obtained residency through marriage to a Taiwanese citizen, was sentenced to eight years in prison for running organizations that recruited and sought to influence other Chinese residents in Taiwan. Taiwan's Supreme Court has rejected her final appeal, making the conviction and sentence final.
