President Lai Ching-te Oversees Live-Fire Military Exercise
REPORTER:
President Lai Ching-te today oversaw a live-fire exercise at a missile testing base in the country's south.
This was a three-day live-fire mission.
Participating units carried out the Taiwan-Penghu defense plan, including joint air defense and counterattack operations, coordinated sea and air strike, and static defense missions.
As of today, all training objectives have been achieved.
The exercise included all three branches of the military as well as the coast guard simulating an attack. Units had to coordinate to deny an escalating Chinese incursion. This was also Taiwan’s first live-fire drill using multiple models of attack drone.
