The head of a US House select committee on China has urged Kuomintang lawmakers to deliver the resources needed to boost Taiwan’s defense, amid increased pressure from Beijing.
Committee Chair John Moolenaar met with the KMT delegation in Washington. He said while the KMT’s backing of a recent drone budget is encouraging, delays in its approval had raised concerns among Taiwan’s partners.
Moolenaar urged the party — which remains at odds with Taiwan’s Cabinet — to follow through and deliver on its commitment. The meeting was part of the delegation's 12-day trip to the US.
