As dawn breaks over Taipei, a whole world comes to life around the Luzhou temple night market, only to be dismantled by sunrise. In COME HUNGRY, Oscar-winner Carol Dysinger creates a city symphony out of the rhythms, sounds, colors, and flavors of this ephemeral community that revolves around Taiwanese food, traditions, and identity. - Artist: Carol Dysinger Carol Dysinger is a documentary filmmaker whose film LEARNING TO SKATEBOARD IN A WARZONE, IF YOU'RE A GIRL won the 2020 Academy Award for Documentary Short and the BAFTA, and has been shown at festivals around the world. She brings years of film editing and screenwriting in both Hollywood and New York to her work as a highly sought after documentary film editorial/story advisor. In 2005, she traveled solo to Afghanistan with camera in hand to make her feature directorial debut, CAMP VICTORY AFGHANISTAN. It screened at MOMA Doc Fortnight, SXSW, Human Rights Festivals in New York, The Hague and Prague. She recently completed ONE BULLET AFGHANISTAN, a new feature documentary that tells the story of friendship forged over a decade of war and provides an in-depth exploration of the impact of civilian casualties. She is a member of the Writer’s Guild West and a Professor at New York University School of the Arts - Graduate Film. She recently received the Guggenheim Fellowship to continue her work on war and story.
