AMD To Invest Billions in Anthropic as Part of Circular Deal

AI giants AMD and Anthropic are partnering on a major AI chip and investment deal.
Advanced Micro Devices, AMD announced on Wednesday that it will invest up to $5 billion in Anthropic, while Anthropic will buy up to 2 GW of AMD's next-generation AI chips—worth tens of billions of dollars—starting in 2027 to power the expansion of its AI product, Claude.
The deal is seen as strengthening AMD's position as the leading alternative to Nvidia in the AI chip market.
