TSMC CFO Says Company Will Keep Leading-Edge Chip Tech in Taiwan
TSMC says its most advanced chip technologies will remain in Taiwan despite announcing a further US$100 billion investment to expand manufacturing facilities in the United States. Chief financial officer Wendell Huang says Taiwan’s strong link between R&D and production makes it the best location for the company's leading-edge technology. TSMC plans to expand its Arizona facilities to 12 fabs and add an R&D center to meet growing demand.
