Taiwan Accuses China of Using Coast Guard Patrols To Expand Control
Taiwan has accused China of using coast guard patrols to expand control after two Chinese vessels were detected in waters east of Taiwan on Friday. Beijing described the patrols as routine law enforcement, but Taipei rejected that characterization, calling it a political operation. Taiwan's coast guard deployed one of its own vessels to monitor the Chinese ships.
