​Taiwan has reported intensified Chinese military activity around the country days before the annual Han Kuang exercises. The defense ministry tracked 22 Chinese military aircraft, on Thursday morning, with 16 flying closer to Taiwan's main island.

Taiwan’s defense ministry is reporting a surge in military activity around the country. The ministry says it tracked 22 aircraft around Taiwan since Thursday morning. Sixteen of the aircraft flew closer to Taiwan’s main island. The incursions come just days before Taiwan conducts its largest annual military drill, the 10-day Han Kuang Exercise.
