Civilians Taught How To Use Military Comms and Mapping App

Ever heard of the Android Tactical Assault Kit, or ATAK? Originally developed for military operations, this mapping and communication platform is now being taught to civilians in Taiwan as more people seek to prepare for emergencies. As Taiwan’s military conducts its annual Han Kuang Exercise, TaiwanPlus joins a civil defense workshop organized by Special Tactical Armory to find out how trainees are using ATAK to build situational awareness, improve disaster preparedness and help keep their families connected in the event of a crisis.
