Woman Trafficked to Australia as Child Regains Taiwanese Citizenship
Vanessa Miles, who was trafficked from Taiwan to Australia as an infant has successfully regained her Taiwanese citizenship. One of 26 babies taken overseas in 1980, Miles initially faced bureaucratic hurdles when trying to apply for a passport. Following a yearlong investigation to verify her birth records and identity, authorities approved her application. Miles hopes this decision will bring her one step closer to finding her biological mother.
