Human Rights Watch Reports Catholic Oppression in China
NGO Human Rights Watch has released a report on Beijing's decade-long crackdown on Catholic clergy and adherents who refuse to submit to the Chinese Communist Party. Its sources say persecution has worsened following Xi Jinping’s sinicization campaign and the 2018 Holy See-China agreement that allows Beijing to pick bishop candidates.
