Taiwan's economy is projected to grow by nearly 13% year-on-year in the second quarter, according to a preliminary estimate from the government's statistics bureau. Strong exports fueled by the AI boom helped lift the estimate above other forecasts.

Taiwan’s second-quarter real GDP likely increased by almost 13 percent compared with the same period last year.
In its preliminary forecast, the government statistics bureau cited strong export performance during the current AI boom. Its figure is also higher than other forecasts. Economists say the boom is spreading beyond the technology sector into exports, capital investment and domestic demand. They say these spillover effects from surging AI demand would benefit the overall economy.
