Puma Shen Surveillance Indictment

Taipei prosecutors have indicted four suspects accused of surveilling Democratic Progressive Party lawmaker and Taipei mayoral candidate Puma Shen.
Prosecutors are seeking 18 months in prison for a private investigator accused of taking more than 11,000 US dollars to spy on Shen. Investigators found a hidden camera that recorded footage outside Shen's home over several weeks in 2024. Two Hong Kong residents accused of funding the operation are wanted by authorities. The indictment comes as Shen's mayoral challenge to incumbent Chiang Wan-an heats up ahead of November's election.
