Two executives from Taoyuan-based Jiin Ming Industry Co. are being detained incommunicado for two months following raids on the company’s offices. Prosecutors allege the drone manufacturer used prohibited Chinese-made chips and camera lenses in drones supplied to Taiwan’s military. The executives face charges including alleged violations of the National Security Act, fraud, and submitting falsified business records. Defense Minister Wellington Koo said the issue was linked to small-scale purchases not subject to thorough inspections. He said the military will now inspect every order as authorities continue their investigation into the procurement case.
