The heads of a major Taiwanese broadcasting group and one of their networks resigned after the network accidentally broadcast news of a Chinese invasion. Erroneous headlines running on screen reporting missile attacks, a local volcano eruption and an oil spill ran for eight minutes on Wednesday morning. Taiwan’s National Communications Commission has said the network violated the Radio and Television Act and could also face charges under public order violations.
