Hi, I am Haisul!
This film follows the extraordinary journey of Haisul Palalavi, the first and only indigenous PhD in his community. Growing up as a Taiwanese indigenous member, Haisul traces back his life and the difficulties he encountered from educational disparity. Despite his success already as an Ethnology professor, he will never forget his roots and keep Bunun culture alive and vibrant in Taiwan. The narrative would have two parts representing his early life as a student and present life as a professor. Through his teaching at National Chengchi University, he will demonstrate his determination and reflection on the issue of language loss. Among the visit in his elementary school, we will realize the difficulty of studying in rural areas in 1970s. _ Director: HSIAO Chia-wei Producer: HSIAO Chia-wei
