Water Radicals Are Full of Activities! - Explore With Mandarin Radicals Ep4

The Mandarin character for water is a pictogram depicting a flowing river with splashing droplets. Over time, the river in the middle was straightened for convenience, and the droplets turned into the lines we recognize as the modern character. Taiwan is an island with plenty of water activities to enjoy! You can wakeboard (huá shuǐ), catch a wave (làng), and even try snorkeling (fú qián). Don’t forget to drink plenty of soda (qì shuǐ), juice (gǔo zhī), or liquor (jǐu) on your adventures too. When you’re ready to warm up, try a hot bowl of soup (tāng) or soak in the hot springs (pào wēn quán)!
