Fire Radicals are Everywhere! - Explore With Mandarin Radicals Ep1

Reporter/Provider - TaiwanPlus
Publish Date -

Fire is a common radical in Mandarin characters with shapes that represent the light and flame produced when things are burnt. The four-stroke symbol of flames flickering upwards can also be separated into four dots or points positioned like a flame below certain characters. Hebe and Becca are off to explore how fire radicals nourish our stomachs in characters like kǎo (grill), zhǔ (boil), or jiān (pan-fry). They’ll also explore how fire radicals in characters like lú (incense burners) and dēng (lanterns) feed our souls as part of Taiwanese religious traditions. How many did you find on this trip?
