Jenny sits down with multi-talented Italian chef and triathlete Giorgio Pappalardo to find out why he represented Taiwan in the Ironman World Championship! Giorgio Pappalardo is an experienced Italian chef who has made his mark in the global restaurant and hotel industry. So what prompted him to open his own Italian restaurant in Taiwan? Well, love, of course! The love of his family, as well as his love of authentic Italian cuisine. So Jenny is wondering, how did a middle-aged Italian chef end up representing Taiwan in the Ironman World Championship? Giorgio explains how he began competing in triathlons as a way to stay fit, and how that hobby developed into a serious competitive drive for him. Now, having made his life in Taiwan and spending most of his days here, Giorgio feels it is only logical that he would compete as a Taiwanese athlete on the world stage. After cycling around much of Taiwan during his training, Giorgio recommends the King of the Mountain (KOM) cycling route for advanced cyclists looking to experience Taiwan’s breathtaking mountain views.
