The Song of the Shaojiao Horn

The Shaojiao horn represents the power of the gods. It is blown to announce the arrival of one of Taiwan's most important deities, the goddess Matsu. One Shaojiao horn master has been making the instruments by hand for more than 30 years. Despite the long process of making the horn by hand, the quality of his work led Taiwan's famous Dajia Jenn Lann Temple to commission several of his horns.
