Conservators of History
Lai Ching-chung works to preserve Taiwan's important archives of literature and historical books at the National Palace Museum. He was trained by a master conservator at the world-famous museum just after graduating from high school, and has been working there for 44 years. After 50 years of service, he will retire. Lai is part of the last generation of conservators trained by way of traditional apprenticeship.
