In 1985, as Taiwan experienced a boom in the popularity of baseball, Chang Shun-chin wanted to give local players an alternative to the expensive imported Japanese gloves. He opened his own baseball glove company, Twin Tower, and devoted his efforts to creating high-quality leather gloves. The stakes could not be higher, according to Chang, because if a glove is not up to standards and a player misses a catch, it could be the difference between winning and losing.
