Dong Teng-xiang, a second-generation lantern craftsman, returned to his hometown of Gugang at 58, leaving his job as a home appliance repairman. He dedicated himself to mastering the craft, recalling his father's advice, "Practice makes perfect." With his father's passing, Dong became the torchbearer of this traditional art, meticulously painting lanterns with unique family histories and symbols. His dedication reflects the essence of craftsmanship and the commitment to preserving cultural heritage for future generations.
