Sparks Lit by the Iron Master
Tseng Wen-chang dropped out of school to become an ironworker apprentice when he was 17. Metal frames seen throughout windows and balconies on residential complexes in Taiwan has long been an icon of Taiwanese living. This form of security, yet art is what Master Tseng works to innovate and preserve. His first masterpiece was an iron cart to help make his mother’s cleaning day job easier. Her words, "we should treat things we create for our customers as our own" has guided his work ever since.
