The US has blocked a dashboard camera and a video transmitter from its market over concerns about Chinese-made surveillance chips. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) said the devices contain chips made by HiSilicon, a subsidiary of Huawei, which is banned from selling its products in the US. The move uses new rules designed to close a loophole in import restrictions. HiSilicon says its chips include detection algorithms for human faces, people, vehicles, parcels and pets.
