Japan's Justice Ministry says Takami Sunao has been hanged. Takami set fire to a pachinko parlor, killing five people and injuring 10. The execution is the first since Japanese Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae came to power. It comes amid renewed domestic and international criticism of Japan's secretive capital punishment system. There are currently 100 people on death row in the country.
