REPORTER:

Japan announced temporary tariffs on cold-rolled steel products from China and Taiwan.

Earlier this month, Japan launched an anti-dumping investigation into the sector. Although the investigation is not over, the country’s economic ministry did say domestic firms could be suffering from unfairly cheap import competition. Tariffs on Taiwanese products would be up to 21%, while those from China would face up to 45%.
