US President Donald Trump says South Korea will invest US$200 billion in energy infrastructure projects in return for reducing tariffs on South Korean goods to 15%. Trump said the deal covers a natural gas pipeline in Alaska, though Seoul says it is still assessing commercial and legal issues connected to this particular project. The agreement also includes the construction of eight nuclear power plants across the US and a gas power project in Texas that would power semiconductor manufacturing and data centers.
