A new survey finds Taiwan has the most expensive milk in the world, at an average price of US$3.09 per liter. Tunisia had the cheapest milk of the 99 countries surveyed, with an average price of US$0.50 per liter.

Taiwan has the most expensive milk in the world, according to a survey of 99 countries by data website Numbeo.

 

One liter of milk in Taiwan costs an average of three US dollars and nine cents. Hong Kong follows in second place at three dollars zero-one, then Singapore at two-ninety-seven. Tunisia had the cheapest milk of the countries surveyed, with a liter costing just 50 cents.

 

Data in Race, a statistics visualization platform, said many factors can influence the local price of milk. These include local farming output, government policies, reliance on imports and household income levels.
