Taiwan has confirmed plans to purchase six million metric tons of liquefied natural gas annually from a proposed Alaska pipeline project, following an announcement by US President Donald Trump. Taiwan’s economy ministry said the estimated investment of up to US$4.4 billion could help diversify energy supplies from 2032.
