Exclusive: US Delegation in Taiwan Calls for Peace Through Economic Strength

A US congressional delegation led by Representative Brendan Boyle is wrapping up its visit to Taiwan. Boyle, the ranking Democrat on the House Budget Committee, was joined by fellow Democratic representatives Tim Kennedy and Andrea Salinas. During their four-day visit, the delegation met with President Lai Ching-te, Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung and other senior officials. Tiffany Wong of TaiwanPlus News spoke with the representatives on security cooperation, economic ties and the future of US-Taiwan relations. The American lawmakers stressed the importance of Taiwan's security and the need for peace through strength.
