Taiwan Women’s Softball Team Punches Ticket to 2027 Finals
Playing under the name Chinese Taipei, Taiwan’s women’s softball team has officially qualified for the World Cup Finals after edging out Italy 8-7 in Prague. After missing their first opportunity in a tough playoff loss to Canada, the team clawed their way back to a top-two finish. This concludes the two-stage, multi-country qualifying cycle, sending Taiwan to the global finals in Australia next year.

Taiwan's women's softball team has punched a ticket to the finals at the softball world cup in Prague.
Team Taiwan, which plays as Chinese Taipei, rose up to the top two after beating Italy eight-seven. The team had lost to Canada in the first playoff, nearly losing its shot at competing in the finals. The world cup follows a two-stage format, playing across multiple countries over the span of two years. The finals will be held in Australia next year.
