Taiwan Mixed Doubles Badminton Pair Reaches 2026 Taipei Open Final

Taiwan's Yang Po-hsuan and Hu Ling-fang advanced to the mixed doubles final at the 2026 Taipei Open after defeating fellow Taiwanese opponents in the semifinals. Earlier in the day, Taiwan's last remaining women's badminton singles player, Huang Yu-hsun, was eliminated in the semifinals.

At the 2026 Taipei Open, local fans rallied behind Taiwan's last hope in the women’s singles, Huang Yu-hsun. But she was defeated in the semifinals, saying she felt the pressure.

Meanwhile, the semifinals of the mixed doubles featured an all-Taiwanese match up.  

Yang Po-hsuan and Hu Ling-fang got to the final round after defeating their Taiwanese counterparts.  

Yang and Hu finished as runners-up at the 2024 Taipei Open. In this year’s games, they are now just one win away from ending Taiwan’s title drought in mixed doubles at the tournament.
