Taiwan’s business activity indicator has flashed red for 10 consecutive months, signaling a red-hot economy amid strong global demand for artificial intelligence. The National Development Council said the indicator rose one point to 41 in September, partly as overtime hours increased in the industrial and service sectors. Under the Council’s five-color system, red signals a surging economy that could face overheating risks. The Council attributed the sustained boom largely to global AI demand, which has boosted Taiwan’s technology production and exports.
