Taiwan’s pineapples could reach US consumers as early as next year after clearing regulatory hurdles, according to the agricultural ministry. Officials say the fruit is now awaiting final US approval, possibly allowing exports to begin during Taiwan’s peak harvest season from February to May. Taiwan has been working to expand overseas markets for its agricultural products since China banned imports of Taiwanese pineapples in 2021.
