Prime Minister Godwin Friday of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is arriving in Taiwan to mark 45 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Friday's delegation will also meet with prospective local investors to discuss cooperation in agriculture, tech and the blue economy, the sustainable use of ocean resources. The Caribbean country is one of Taiwan's 12 formal diplomatic allies.

The head of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is arriving in Taiwan to mark 45 years of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
President Lai Ching-te will receive Prime Minister Godwin Friday with military honors. Friday’s delegation will also meet with prospective local investors to discuss agriculture, tech and the blue economy – or the sustainable use of ocean resources. Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is one of Taiwan's 12 formal diplomatic allies. Friday's visit eases concerns that his government, which was elected last year, could switch ties to China.

Prime Minister Godwin Friday of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is visiting Taiwan through Sunday to mark 45 years of diplomatic relations coming in the middle of August.
Prime Minister Friday will be formally received by President Lai Ching-te with military honors and join events commemorating the long-lasting ties between the two sides. The Vincentian delegation will meet with Taiwan investors and discuss agriculture, the blue economy, technology and sustainable development. Friday's 2025 election win ended his rival party's 24-year hold on power, and his visit eases concerns that his party would shift recognition to Beijing. The Caribbean country is one of Taiwan’s 12 diplomatic allies.
