REPORTER:
A Taiwanese diabolo coach turned spy has been handed 12 more years in sentences, plus a 4-year civil rights suspension for leaking state secrets to China.
Lu Chi-hsien was found guilty in two separate cases. He shared a classified Air Force training schedule to China. He also shared then-President Tsai Ing-wen's travel itinerary for her 2023 trips to Belize and Guatemala. Lu used contacts that he paid through a Chinese-funded spy ring in both cases.
Lu is already facing a 10-year sentence for establishing the ring, which he has appealed to the Supreme Court. The new charges may also be appealed.
