Law enforcement has seized heroin and ketamine valued at over US$300 million US dollars from a boat off Taiwan's southwest coast. The bust came with help from US agencies, with Taiwanese authorities saying this highlights the importance of international intelligence sharing.

Law enforcement officials have seized drugs from a boat off southwestern Taiwan with an estimated value of more than 300 million US dollars.

 

The younger generation is especially threatened by drugs so we cannot imagine what the consequences would be if these drugs had entered the market.

 

Authorities seized 280 kilograms of heroin and around 350 kilograms of ketamine. Ten people were detained, including three Taiwanese nationals. The drugs were said to originate in Myanmar, and the bust was carried out with help from US agencies. The top US diplomat in Taiwan celebrated the action.

The bust was carried out with help from the US Drug Enforcement Administration, a collaboration that the US’s top diplomat in Taiwan, celebrated.
