Taiwan’s Cabinet is fast-tracking stricter laws against driving while under the influence of drugs, following a spike in fatal road accidents involving people driving while high. The government’s crackdown especially targets a surge in illicit vapes containing etomidate — so-called "zombie vapes." Premier Cho Jung-tai ordered a review of the Criminal Code to increase penalties for both first-time and repeat offenders.
