Township Chief Charged With Neglect in Hualien Flood Disaster
Prosecutors have charged Guangfu Township Chief Lin Qing-shui with neglect in connection with a barrier lake breach and catastrophic flooding that killed 19 people last year. Authorities say Lin failed to evacuate residents and tried to cover up his actions. They're seeking a maximum 10-year sentence for him and three others.
