Emergency Workers Monitor Flood-Prone Areas As Typhoon Bavi Approaches
Taiwan is preparing for the arrival of Typhoon Bavi, with authorities warning of torrential rain and dangerous conditions as the storm approaches. President Lai Ching-te called for close coordination between central and local government departments as emergency workers monitored flood-prone areas and water levels along the east coast. Hundreds of flights and ferry services have been canceled, while work and school were suspended across northeastern Taiwan, including Taipei.
