Mia and Natalie are off to the legendary city of Tainan! Catch Phoenix hotel takes its name from mythical phoenixes once believed to nest in the ancient capital. The city was built into a maze of narrow alleys in hopes of retaining these auspicious creatures for good luck. Walking around the markets at night is a great way to sample the local vibe. The girls are staying in a magical treehouse that feels particularly cultural given the real red brick walls and bright hanging lanterns. The owner is very passionate about sharing the more than 100 years of history behind his hotel. He’s divided the two-story loft into three bedrooms for personal relaxation and communal spaces for visiting with friends. The nearby shops on Shennong street have their own unique character. The art dispersed throughout the night market also helps to bring the community together while introducing their creations to visitors at large.
